Solutions for a life of possibilities

Much has changed, both in Swiss Life and worldwide, since 1857.

Back then, lawyer Conrad Widmer founded a new insurance company called Schweizerische Rentenanstalt, at the time with just five employees. Today, his company – now called Swiss Life – employs over 7 800 life insurance experts and 4 800 financial advisers.

In 1857, the average life expectancy in Europe was around 40 years; today, it is over 80 and still rising. Back then, people were largely unable to choose and mould the direction of their own lives; today, we live in a changing world of limitless opportunity, where people can live and work according to their own values.

At Swiss Life, a leading independent European provider of comprehensive life, pensions and financial solutions, we have 160 years' experience in providing people with the financial security they require in a world of constant change.

We seek to create solutions that reduce complexity for our clients. This role has never been as important as it is today, when so many of us can anticipate a long post-working life that would have been unimaginable to earlier generations.
