Thirty years ago, a small Swiss Life office was set up in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with two employees. Today, it has become the Swiss Life Group’s hub for cross-border insurance solutions, and continues to grow vibrantly.

Since 1985...

Starting with individual pension and savings solutions, Swiss Life Luxembourg began to offer group employee benefit solutions to local companies in 1990. By 1999, we had become the local market leader for group insurance in Luxembourg. That same year, we launched our insurance solutions for expatriate employees around the world. Two years later, responding to the growing need for European cross-border insurance and estate planning solutions for high net worth individuals, we set up our Private Clients business.

In 2003, Swiss Life Luxembourg received the Best Compensation and Rewards Solution Provider award, and went on to win this eight more times. This recognition from the Luxembourg business community clearly shows the high quality of solutions and services delivered by our Corporate Clients business.

Continuing to respond to ever-changing client needs, we launched our first pan-European pension fund solution in 2009, allowing multinational corporations to consolidate their employee pension plans across Europe.

In 2015, Swiss Life Luxembourg celebrated its 30th birthday. Now the Swiss Life Group’s hub for cross-border solutions, we have premiums exceeding two billion euros, a client base across five continents, and a team of dedicated expert professionals.

People and the community

What is our biggest asset? Our 125 employees with 20 nationalities between them. They are the brains and muscles behind the “made-in-Luxembourg” solutions offered to multinational corporations and high net worth individuals across the world. Our Swiss Life teams are very close-knit. The company is still small enough for everyone to know each other personally, which makes collaboration easy and efficient. Teams work together to ensure the highest levels of service for every client and partner.

A culture of giving back to the community is also strongly encouraged within the company. As an example, for three years in a row, Swiss Life has been running the “Rock against Cancer” benefit concert to raise funds for two Luxembourg foundations fighting against cancer. The reason is simple: as part of the community, we want to give back and support its development.
