Life AG take place?
The merger will be carried out on June 30, 2026. On this date, all insurance contracts of Swiss Life (Liechtenstein) AG will be taken over by Elips Life AG.
What type of merger will be carried out and why?
A so-called absorption merger will be carried out, in which Swiss Life (Liechtenstein) AG will be absorbed by Elips Life AG. As a result, Swiss Life (Liechtenstein) AG will cease to exist and only Elips Life AG will continue as the legal entity. This is done with the aim of simplifying the organizational structure within Swiss Life.
What impact does the transfer of contracts to Elips Life AG have on insurance policies?
The merger will not impact the content of insurance policies. The terms and benefits of the insurance policies will remain unchanged by the transfer and will be continued in full by by Elips Life AG. As a result of the merger policyholders are granted an additional, extraordinary right of termination should they choose not to continue the insurance contract under the new arrangement.
What impact does this have on my contract?
The new legal entity (Elips Life AG), like its predecessor Swiss Life (Liechtenstein) AG, is domiciled in Liechtenstein. As a result, the regulatory framework remains unchanged. Liechtenstein law will continue to govern your insurance contract. The responsible authorities also remain the same: the Liechtenstein regulator (Financial Market Authority of Liechtenstein; FMA) and the Liechtenstein Arbitration Board (https://schlichtungsstelle.li/) will continue to oversee your contractual relationship.
Who is Elips Life AG?
Elips Life AG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss Life Holding AG, headquartered in Liechtenstein, with branches in Switzerland, Italy, and the Netherlands. Elips Life AG primarily operates in the field of occupational pension solutions covering death and disability risks, focusing on insurance products that cover the financial consequences of illness and accidents.
What financial rating does the Swiss Life Group have?
On December 3, 2025, Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings reaffirmed the financial strength rating of the Switzerland-based parent company Swiss Life Holding AG at “A- with stable outlook.”
What do I need to do if I want to terminate the contract?
To ensure that Elips Life AG meets its due diligence obligations, any termination must be preceded by a personal consultation. How long or until when can I terminate the contract?
The right to terminate in connection with the transfer of contracts may be exercised within three months of receiving this letter. After this three-month period has expired, the regular right of termination under the general terms and conditions will continue to apply.
